Tamil star Ajith Kumar appears unwilling to pause and bask in the success of his latest film, Vidaamuyarchi, as he has already shifted his focus to the next phase of his racing career—one of his greatest passions. While Vidaamuyarchi continues its victorious run, Ajith is back on the track, gearing up for a significant motorsport event in Portugal. However, during a recent practice session, his car was reportedly involved in a serious accident, though he fortunately escaped unharmed.

Ajith Kumar escapes a major accident

During a training session for the upcoming race in Estoril, Ajith’s car met with an accident on the track, suffering considerable damage. Fortunately, he was swiftly rescued and emerged without any injuries. Later, he downplayed the incident as a ‘minor accident’ since there were no casualties and expressed his gratitude to those who supported him. He also reassured his fans that his team was prepared to deliver another strong performance.

Ajith further shared his enthusiasm about competing on the very circuit where Formula 1 legend Ayrton Senna secured his first victory. Acknowledging the difficulties posed by the track, he mentioned that his timing had shown improvement. Speaking on the sport’s increasing popularity in his home country since his involvement, he told The Times of India, “It truly excites me to see them embracing something I love so much.” Despite the accident, his team managed to repair the car in time for the qualifying round, allowing Ajith to participate successfully.

Ajith Kumar’s first accident in January

This incident marks the second accident Ajith has experienced recently. In January, while training for the Dubai 24H race, his car crashed into a safety barrier, spinning multiple times before coming to a stop. A video of the crash went viral, but Ajith fortunately walked away unharmed. Despite the setback, he achieved remarkable success in the 24H Dubai 2025 endurance race, emerging victorious. His team, Ajith Kumar Racing by Bas Koeten, secured third place in the 991 category, while Ajith himself received the prestigious Spirit of the Race recognition in the GT4 category.
